What if we can develop a device that is capable of measuring carbon dioxide levels, and other parameters, consumed and produced by trees automatically 24/7?

This will definitely provide a better picture of how trees actually have an impact on our environment. The real-time data, transferred seamlessly via IoT technology, will allow researchers and the public to make better sense of the world around us.

This device was developed in 2019 by a team led by Ir. Dr. Khairunnisa Hasikin @eishahasikin from Department of Biomedical Engineering @engineering.um

Her multidisciplinary team is always on the lookout for opportunities in using their expertise to work towards a better environment for future generations. Recently they have also secured a research grant to develop solutions in preserving the mangrove ecosystem.
